DANGIT, I did.

Been doing a bit of drawing lately. Why is it a one-off line from a part of Monkey Island I haven't played in months and months suddenly sparked a picture and then a series of little stories? I blame Tales of Monkey Island. I've been unable to drag myself down from it, after obsessing about it for five months and actually connecting with the rest of the fanbase finally! Also, I started doing a fun 'screencap adventure' thing for Curse of Monkey Island [link] . It's fun; Basically, I post screenshots from the game and give my commentary for them. If you guys haven't played it, you might like to see why I love these games so much.
(Oh hey, there's a group now for MI fans! I just joined it; didn't know it was there!)

On to other subjects...
Added a new section below 'Artwork Progress'. I'm doing animations as well now, and it would be good to be able to put progress bars of my literary stuff somewhere, too. Well, the stuff I'm actually POSTING, that is.
The animation I'm currently playing around with is called 'Zabby's History Lesson' and contains MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE spoilers for Squirrel Angels and Horns and Wings. It blatantly shows things I've only hinted at in the comics, and expands the creation story that Ebony told Velvet.

I'd be more creative right now if it weren't for this horrible cold I've caught.

IT'S A MIRACLE!
I woke up this morning and had in my head the perfect script for the two Squirrel Angels pages I'd been stuck on for months and months! THANK THE LORD!
So now SA chapter 2 is finally complete, I gotta get on uploadin' 'em so I can move on to Horns and Wings chapter 2. That one's pretty much completed, just needs to be coloured.

OMG I'm still spazzing about TMI5! They've released a trailer for it, called "The Story So Far", and it's awesome! It's also based on a fan-trailer someone made after Chapter 4 was released, which is in my favourites on YouTube. In some parts the fan-trailer was better, but this one had music by Michael Land and clips from Chapter 5 at the end! SPAZ!
My criticisms are only that the music wasn't... energetic enough at points. Even though the fan-trailer used copyrighted music from POTC and such, it really fit with the clips. And that section in the middle between Guybrush and Human-LeChuck really worked better WITHOUT music in the background. That's pretty much the only drawback... The music wasn't up to par for some odd reason. Was it specially made for the trailer, or someone else put it together from in-game tracks and messed up? I really dunno.
BUT STILL. DECEMBER EIGHT IS "RISE OF THE PIRATE GOD"! OMG!

Also, on the TellTale forums ( [link] ) I'm auditioning to help out with an animation. Seeing as my course at Tafe is pretty much over, I'll need to take every oppertunity to practise... although unfortunatly several other, more experienced, animators got there first and I'm just trying to show off any Monkey Island fanart I've got. That's why there are, like, three I put up yesterday evening. With two of them incomplete. And because you guys liked the Sam VS Guybrush one, I'm gonna go colour it and clean it up. It seems to deserve a little bit of love after all.

Been several months since I updated, so here goes.

In more serious news, Tafe is finishing up in a couple weeks time. I've been madly getting things for it done, and once I get my showreel DVD set up tomorrow, I'll look at posting some stuff up here and on YouTube.

Also, I should have posted all of Squirrel Angels Chapter 2 by now... except there's a big problem. Y'see, when I drew out the final page, I had a nice little speech in my head, and I drew the pictures to that. Only problem was I DIDN'T WRITE IT DOWN. So I've forgotten the nice speech and am now left staring at my screen going WHAT WAS I THINKING HERE TO PUT ALONGSIDE THAT PICTURE? And since said speech is across two pages, the second-last page has been caught up in the problem too, despite having only ONE LINE.
GAH.
Anyway, I was thinking of asking for help, seeing as I've hit a creative block, but you guys can't help without visuals... and would anyone even WANT to help? It's been several months since I dropped by, so I'll be surprised if people are still paying attention to me.

Short Film Project: The Prank War

So that's the reason I've been effectively MIA for the past two months.
I don't remember if I told you guys, but my class was kicked up a semester in my TAFE course, and we have a big project now to do a short film. This is especially hard on Jacque and me because we haven't done any organic character modelling or animation before, whereas the others all did it last year.
My film is called "The Prank War", and is about a human girl Torch and her pet dog Spiffy, who is always pulling pranks on her. I took a few shortcuts in the design by delibrately going very cartoony and using as many simple shapes as possible... I also made Torch entirely out of boxes, cones and cylinders, taking a massive shortcut in the usual 'everything must be attached together in the one mesh' thing the book I'm using as a guide says. Unfortunately, I can't take such shortcuts with Spiffy, so only his head is seperate and his body is one big, hard-to-model editable poly with a symmetry modifier.

Yeah, none of you have ever touched 3D modelling before, haven't you? I just effectively spoke gibberish.
Anyway, I've got Torch done. I'll take a few shots of her, maybe a short animation in my spare time, and put it up either here or on YouTube. Once Spiffy or the set, whichever comes first, is complete, I'll do the same with them. That way you all know I'm not just slacking off! My page of sketches for their designs should be going up soon, complete with sketches of how the film should go!

*looks down* That is a long list. Especially since I just expanded it past only the comics...
